The Mad Ones

The Mad Ones is a contemporary musical with a book by Kait Kerrigan and a score by Brian Lowdermilk. The story follows Samantha Brown, a high school senior caught between her mother’s expectations and her own desires for independence.

After the sudden death of her best friend, Kelly, Sam is left grappling with grief, identity, and the weight of her choices. The musical explores her internal journey as she reflects on pivotal moments and relationships, particularly her friendship with the fearless and free-spirited Kelly and her romantic relationship with Adam. Set against the backdrop of a car poised for a road trip, Sam must decide whether to follow the carefully mapped-out path set by her ambitious mother or to embrace the unknown and forge her own future.

With its heartfelt songs and relatable themes of loss, love, and self-discovery, The Mad Ones captures the bittersweet transition from adolescence to adulthood.
