Emma Riley
Fiercely determined triple threat

“I have had the great fortune of seeing Emma’s work in both an artistic and educational framework and am always impressed by her inspiring artistry, insight, and tenacity.
Emma is not only a wonderful actress, she is also a highly organized and mature teacher who inspires confidence in her team and it is this combination that makes her so successful in balancing her work in the theatre."
- Adam Burke,
Artistic Director of Children’s Theatre Charlotte
SO WHY ACTING?
I grew up in Davidson, North Carolina, where my grandma first introduced me to theatre by taking my little sister and me to local productions. After years of watching from the audience, I finally stepped onstage in seventh grade as part of Honk! Jr. and immediately fell in love.
What keeps me coming back to acting is the connection. I love finding the truth inside a story, understanding what makes a character move through the world, and creating work that helps an audience feel something real. I care deeply about the people in the room, and one of my greatest strengths as an artist is my ability to bring both thoughtfulness and compassion into the process.
When I am not performing or teaching, I am usually spending time with my mini Australian Shepherds, Cash and Winnie, trying a new coffee shop, going to the gym, taking a dance class, or being with the people I love.
Theatre has given me confidence, community, and a deeper understanding of myself and others. I feel incredibly lucky every time I get to step into a rehearsal room, tell a story, and connect with an audience.
